I started t hand him half the bags, but he just laughed and took them all. I think that Im strong enough to hold ten shopping bags! he laughed. Probably more, he seemed to say to himself.
Okay. If youre sure My taxis right over there, I pointed to it.
He looked skeptical. Are you sure that you want to ride around in a taxi?
Umm .. You are asking this why? I thought at him. I dont have a car, I said politely, but also like that was so obvious that he should have realized that.
But I do, he said, pointing his thumb over his

Nobody answered. I hung up and started to walk away, but then the phone started to ring.
Austins POV
I was still trying to figure out what I was going to do about Stephanie, when I felt my phone start vibrating in my pocket. I ignored it at first, because I knew that there was only one person that I wanted to talk to and she had left her phone at the house. But then I started thinking that maybe it was her. Anything was possible, right? Well thats what I hoped. The problem was that by the time I decided to answer the phone, it had stopped ringing.
I quickly pressed the call-back button, and waited for someone to answer the phon
Austins POV
I never did fall asleep. I just stared out my window, waiting for the light to come. I dont know why. My visions clouded things over so much that it didnt really matter, but at the crack of dawn, I ran back outside and resumed my search. I looked everywhere.
I didnt really know what I was looking for. Did I think she was alive? Did I think that I would find her dead body? The answer to both questions is that I dont know. I didnt really think. I just looked for whatever trace of her I could find.
When I found the blood, I collapsed in despair. Was she really dead? Please, dear God, no! She cou
Wests POV
I quietly led Clay and Jason into the room I had booked for the night. Is she asleep? I heard Jason ask.
Yeah. I dont blame her. Shes been through a lot. Plus shes probably tired from all the traveling we did today.
Clay looked over at her. Could see he hunger in his eyes as e looked down at her, sleeping peacefully on the pillow. Not now, I heard Jason say to his brother. Restrain yourself.
I didnt think that this was a good idea, them seeing her. I mean Clay almost killed her yesterday! Not that she would know that. I didnt really have much of
Austins POV
I watched, stunned as she ran into the woods. I couldnt believe that she had just slapped me. I kept staring at the direction shed gone in. I had to find her, and explain.
I sprinted through the woods, but couldnt find her. Had she turned? Left? Right? Kept straight? I was starting to lose hope. How could I ever find her when this wood was so damn big?
Then, I heard a noise that made my insides twist, and my heart break. I heard her scream in agony. I ran towards the noise, but she stopped screaming before I could put an exact location on her. Hold on, Stephanie, I thought out. I will f
Shut up! I heard someone say in a harsh whisper. Do you want that demon dog to come after you again?
Scared, I shook my head. Okay, if I take my hand away from your mouth will you scream? I thought about it for a moment. Would I rather be ripped to shreds by a demon dog or take my chances with a guy I didnt know? Slowly, I shook my head. I wouldnt scream. He lifted his hand from my mouth.
Who are you? I asked, spitting out the taste of dirt from his hand.
I should be asking you the same question.
Fine. Im Stephanie. And now its your turn.
Stephanies POV
I kept running. Why did I have to get so mad at him? I have a good excuse, I thought to myself, looking down at a small stream. It wasnt really his fault that he didnt love me. Plus, I didnt even know the first thing about being a vampire. How could I go through something like that on my own? You have to go back, I told myself.
But which way was the house? There had been so many twists and turns in my path that I couldnt be sure. With a sinking feeling, I realized that I was lost. I leaned against a tree that was next to the water, and slid down till I was sitting, trying
In the morning, when I woke up, I stretched, and rolled over right on top of Austin. Well, good morning sleeping beauty, he laughed. Blushing, I rolled back off of him. You better get ready for school.
Why did I have to go to school? I was a vampire for crying out loud! No, I think that Ill do something else while you go to school. Like meet his family
Well, we can do something else. What do you want to do? The day is ours. He seemed a bit quick to answer. Why didnt he want me to meet his family.
How about you introduce me to the rest of your family?
Stephanies POV
I woke up to people talking outside the room. I glanced at the clock. Four-thirty. Who would be up at this hour? Drowsily, I turned and felt the bed beside me. Where was Austin? Did he decide to get up while I was asleep?
I turned my attention to the talking outside. What were the people saying? I was still half asleep, and they seemed to be whispering, so I couldnt quite make out the words correctly. What are they saying? I thought at myself, even though I knew that it probably wasnt even any of my business.
Yawning, I slipped out of bed. The floor was freezing on my bare feet, but I ignored it

Leave us alone, Arallia. Why did she always have to come in at the wrong time? Just be thankful she didnt come in when Stephanie was awake, I tell myself. Why did I think that I was going to hide this from her? Of course, I knew it wouldnt be too long before she found out. I was a lot of things but wasnt stupid. But why did she have no find out now?
When are you going to tell her? she asked ignoring my question.
Go away, I said, glaring at her.
Austin, Im not leaving, she said, planting her feet firmly on the ground. Sure she wasnt
